CommTech Action
The Gratitude Experiment

Happiness being challenged?  This calls for Gratitude!

With the inability to do all the things we want to do, getting disconnected from family and friends, the challenge of times like these is reminding ourselves of what we DO have.  From your health to food and shelter, to still having the ability to reach out and stay connected, some appreciation goes a long way.  As they say, in many ways, "gratitude turns what we have into enough."

In the the first CommTech Action of its kind, this week our goal is raise the collective happiness of the CommTech community and spread it out to everyone that matters to us.  The Gratitude Experiment is a CommTech-wide initiative that asks individuals to take some time to write a letter / email and send it to someone you are grateful for.   Maybe its a family member, an old friend, a teacher you've had, or someone from camp.  Older, younger, it doesn't matter.  The goal is to reconnect with someone that you appreciate, ask them how they are and perhaps remind them of how important they are with a memory or two.

Review the tips below before you start and enjoy the "feels" as you make somone's day with a simple act of gratitude.

Thank-you.

Tips to Get You Started

Tip #1 - Select A Recipient

Think within your family and friend group and go from there.  If you're stuck, check old contacts or previous communications.
Tip #2 - Be You

It sounds obvious but when it comes to composing your letter, just be you.  Don't overthink things like structure or those exact words.  The importance is the act of reaching out and communicating.
Tip #3 - Proof It

Just because it's a gratitude letter, doesn't mean it doesn't get a proofread.  Read it over to check for any errors. This stuff matters.
Tip #4 - Be Entertaining

Whether it be through email, call, or otherwise, think of how you would like to deliver this.
