Work Habits

Let's get to work!

Work Habits is the process of doing; how you use your time, and how effectively and productively you work. You will find tips on how to demonstrate effective work habits, and ways to improve your mark if you are struggling in this area.

Plus, work habits are important in life, not just CommTech.

Tips to Get You Started

  1. Be on time! It’s easy to lose marks being late, and if you are on time, those marks can help boost your mark.
  2. Be prepared! Always have your rubrics/class binder/things you will need.
  3. Be productive! Stay on task while working in class; you gain marks by working productively, both individually and in groups.
  4. Follow submission requirements!  For all activities/projects carefully and respect deadlines!
  5. Get involved! Develop your ideas both inside and outside the classroom and participate in class discussions and projects.
  6. Keep a clean work space. Food and drink are allowed, garbage is not.  Check your space before you leave class.
  7. Communicate effectively. Listen when you are suppose to, talk productively, and follow instructions.
  8. Save! Save! Save! Save before you begin, backup all files and double check attachments! There are always problems with files not saving and you don’t want your hard work to go to waste.
  9. Be responsible. Use class resources as well as your own personal technology.
  10. LMC. Log off, turn off your Monitor, push in your Chair at the conclusion of class.
